Recurring Bad Dreams Post inspired by: Sofia's Post Image Credit: dreams.co.uk Some of my bad dreams come repeatedly that’s why I usually remember them.
One bad dream is a zombie apocalypse, which started when I was in Grade 4. In this dream, there is always a person or two that I would be with (obviously not zombies), then they/he/she get/s infected and they/he/she become zombies and it ends when I get cornered by a group of zombies. I usually have this dream when I feel stressed, but instead, when I think of zombies at night before I sleep, my dreams isn’t really a zombie apocalypse but a weird dream instead. My another dream is when some gnomes (maybe because I only remember them wearing pointy hats, so I think of them as gnomes but they’re really tall like human size) appear in front of my house (from my old hometown, Camotes Island). After that, they start talking to me and I talk with them. But then, something goes wrong and they randomly chase me down the road and I always see a nipa hut in the right and head to it to hide. And that’s when I usually wake up. One more weird dream is where I see my house (from my old hometown, Camotes Island) which is small on the outside but extremely huge on the inside. After taking a walk outside, some problem starts and I run to my great grandparent’s house (my father’s side) which is just the same as my house, small on the outside but extremely huge on the inside. I try to hide there but soon I encounter some unusual item there that wakes me up. I have so many weird dreams and I don’t know how to stop them. Do you think you can give me any advice?

❤️Apple Love Comic❤️ Inspired by: Alicia's Post This is about a rebellious apple, Chi, who changed just for her partner, SweetJ. But SweetJ wants the same rebellious Chi back.
You might be wondering why I wrote about love instead of helping nature (from Alicia's post). I actually thought of this idea because Alicia's post was a comic. Yes, a comic. I was also listening to random songs and while I was trying to think of an idea for a comic, I heard the song "Just The Way You Are" by Bruno Mars, and that is how I thought about this comic. Unbelievable right? Maybe I can make a comic for valentines day next year. By the way, I made this comic in Canva. Thank You! About Commenting What have I enjoyed about commenting? It gives me opportunities to express what I think about the post. What is annoying about commenting? Not knowing how to put my thoughts about the post into words and how the comment is should be related to the post. How have I found interesting posts to comment on? By exploring posts that interest me in flipboard magazine and of course in students/class blogs. Are my posts getting lots of quality comments? Why or why not? Even though I got 18 posts published so far in #17stubc Flipboard magazine, I guess students don’t really get time to check this magazine very often and explore posts in there, that's why I don't get many comments. However, there are some quality comments that I would like to share with you: Miss Sue Wyatt: G'day Farrah, Great avatar and like you, my hair gets very messy, very quickly. Like the way you have described your avatar and how it represents you. Hope you enjoy the challenge activities. Van Anh: Your post has lots of effects which is very cool. I never heard of Jim Benton before, what kind of books does he write? Phakamon: Hey there Farrah, Your Homeland is beautiful, it makes me want to go there. According to the picture, it looks so fun. Jori: Hi! Its a really smart idea where you use Malala's quotes because it is already International Day of the Girl. At first I didn't understand what is it until I read the thing you said it is a quote, so I immediately understood what was it? Abbie: Cool drawing! I'm also a digital artist but I draw in FireAlpaca and not MS Paint good job! :D Lorelai: Hi!! My name is Lorelai. I love how you said your hair color and how you wear glasses. I wish you said more about yourself like what color your glasses and eyes were. I wonder if your hair color was different when you were younger. Don't forget to come visit my blog in the link above Happy blogging. Aziza: I love your slides and I love music too I also love art sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. I love your blog. Since the activities this week are mostly about commenting, I hope, I will get more quality comments.
Thank You! Image Credit: mashable.com Shahmeer’s post of being afraid of clowns was interesting. The story gave chills. I’ve never seen the show ‘Goose Bumps’ before. I can imagine it happen. But I don’t like horror movies. Fear of clowns is called coulrophobia. Also, maybe I am coulrophobic. I’ve never seen a real life clown before. I only saw pictures of them. Anyways, I might be Acrophobic (A person who is afraid of heights or high places), Arsonphobic (A person who is afraid of fire), Nosophobic (A person who is afraid of getting a disease) or maybe even Athazagoraphobic (A person who is afraid of being forgotten). These are some phobias I have. It might be surprising that I’m afraid of fire. I don’t like to go near it ‘cause I think I might get burned. I’m also afraid of touching animals. I like to look at animals. I also seem interested in them, but I just can’t touch them. Nook’s post interest me. I wonder what will happen next. It’s quite unusual for an eight-year-old boy to not like candy. Many people like candy. That’s why it’s so interesting. This is what I think will happen next. Red is the story Nook wrote. Blue is my continued story. I hope you like it. ‘Candies’ are best friends of anyone, but not with this strange 8-year-old boy. In everyone else’s perspective, candies come in different colors like the rainbow, but for him, candies have no color. Candies bring a smile to your face because of their different sweet taste and a fun burst of flavors, not for him, candies only have one taste; bitter. “Candies cause tooth decay,” the only fact he knows about what candies are. He never liked candies. Until a little girl, younger than him came in, she gave him this particular object wrapped in a pastel plastic foil..... .......It was a piece of candy. He was focused on the candy for some reason and when he turned and wanted to give the candy back, the little girl had disappeared. He didn’t know what to do with the candy. He thought he could just throw it away. But instead he took a small bite. Then, he felt the sensation of the taste. He started to like candy. He then ate the whole piece of candy. He wanted more. Ever since then, he ate candy regularly every day (may be in memory of that little girl, who knows). He would also brush his teeth regularly to prevent tooth decay. And that’s how the strange 8 year old boy came to like candy. Nook’s post interests me. Nobody ever found out that French Fries were originated in Belgium. Ever since I was little, I wondered why French Fries are called French Fries. Thank you Nook, now I know.

Poverty
What is poverty? Is it about not having enough money to meet basic needs including food, clothing and shelter? No, poverty is much more than just not having enough money. Please watch video that I made in 'Powtoon', to know how The World Bank Organization describes poverty.
“Poverty is hunger. Poverty is lack of shelter. Poverty is being sick and not being able to see a doctor. Poverty is not having access to school and not knowing how to read. Poverty is not having a job, is fear for the future, living one day at a time. Poverty has many faces, changing from place to place and across time, and has been described in many ways. Most often, poverty is a situation people want to escape. So poverty is a call to action -- for the poor and the wealthy alike -- a call to change the world so that many more may have enough to eat, adequate shelter, access to education and health, protection from violence, and a voice in what happens in their communities.”

World Hunger Image Credit: flickr Hunger Limerick
The world is filled with hunger, But this won’t stay forever, If we lock this away, And deep down, we will pray, We can end this problem together. Many children have died, From the beginning they have tried, To not catch the diseases, And this problem never eases, But in the end they are not alive. We can stop this problem, If we did it would be awesome, Let’s not make an attribution, We should first find a solution, And bring this problem to the bottom. ThankYou! TimeLine - An Application We Use in Our School Blog Post Cedit: Mai Thao Image Credit: http://is5.mzstatic.com RWT Timeline is one of the many applications we use in our school. We can order events from history, sequence a scientific investigation, sequence events from a story, use it for biography writing, or planning frame for writing We can organize a timeline by time of day, date, or event, and the tool allows us to create a label with short or long descriptive text. It is very easy to use this app. Once downloaded, open it up, create a user name and name the timeline. A new point on the line can then be added by tapping the line itself. You can add a label and some simple detail as well as an image. You can also make the entries to sit above or below the timeline. Entries can be deleted easily or edited to add more information. When finished the timeline can be saved to Photos, and the project can be saved to return to it later. If you want to create a timeline, use RWT Timeline. It is available as a web app, as an Android app., and as an iPad app. Here are some links to download/use the app:

Organizing Parties Blog Post Credit: Alicia Image Credit: openclipart Alicia's post, Organizing a Party, really interests me even though I've never really liked to host nor have hosted a party before. The gift game is very interesting and seems fun. It would also be nice, that a host would give guests some presents, as a thank you for coming. It also seems exciting if nobody knows what they're getting. I don't really understand "Would You Rather" but "Time's Up" sounds fun. I agree with the decorations. Party looks lovely, lively and has a cheerful atmosphere.
The "Selfie Corner" is really cool. Aside from taking pictures, we can also have some fun with the mustaches, bows, fancy glasses and hats in my opinion. The additional wigs and/or masks look really fun. I agree with the food, something refreshing and delicious would be amazing. Fruit Brochettes sound delicious. I haven't tasted one yet (I think I saw one before in a photo). Mini Pizzas would be delicious. I agree that you can make the mini pizzas in different variety according to people's taste. It sounds creative. But how do you make one? My ideal party would be a party where it's fun but not too wild at the same time (or else someone might destroy something). There would be fun games. I might try to play the games Alicia recommended like the Gift Game and Time's Up. There would be refreshing foods like the Fruit Brochettes and something delicious like Mini Pizzas. I can't really answer the second question because my family has not experienced playing some games or attending some parties. Even if there were (which I'm not really sure) I would still forget 😅. But there are lots of foods. The games in parties are only for special occasions or younger children's parties. I think one of the most important part for a party is the food. For me food is what I like the most in parties. I like eating (very very much). Games I think would be the second. The decorations would be the third. I don't really care that much with the decor. Thank you for listening. If you want to visit Alicia's post: Click Here☺️ Drawing and Anime Blog Post Credit: Agathe Drawing of a cyclops like Eyeball that I made in MS Paint. I will be talking about Agathe's post, Drawing and Anime, and answering her questions.
I like Agathe's post about drawing different drawing styles. She is very good at shading. I don't really know how to shade. I don't actually know who SirCutieYuki is. But I looked her up. I think she looks nice. Hisoka is the third person I like in Hunter x Hunter. My first favorite is Bisky and second is Killua. Eyeball, the cyclops (one-eyed alien) interests me, so I made another person like Eyeball. Agathe's last drawing is cute. It is my favorite out of the rest. First, my most favorite anime is Danganronpa but it is very violent. It is about a killing game at school and the students are manipulated to kill each other. The students have special talents. The protagonist will try to escape and try not to kill nor die. My favorite character is Celestia, the ultimate gambler, and Junko, the ultimate despair. My favorite one is Danganronpa 3 Despair Arc. This season is different from the original Danganronpa. Some characters are different but everyone in the class still have talents. I recommend that you watch it if you can handle blood and gore. My second favorite anime is D-Gray Man. It is an action and comedy anime. The protagonist is an exorcist who defeats akumas and there is also the 14th Noah, Nea, inside him. A Noah is an akuma-like human who can summon akumas and kill humans. There are 14 Noahs. Noahs despise exorcists. My favorite character is Road Kamelot. I recommend watching it if you're interested. I would be happy if you would draw someone from these animes that I recommended. How Schooling Has Changed Over the Last 40 Years Image Credit: openclipart During my parents's school days, there were no gadgets and internet. For project work, they had to go to the libraries and use books, encyclopedias and dictionaries and finish their project research there. The teachers were also strict on homework. They would punish students who didn’t finish their homework. Now, we have gadgets and internet to do research for our homework in minutes, but still, some of us can’t finish our homework.
My parents' teachers were very strict, they used to hit the students with anything they were holding if the students were distracted or noisy while the teacher was talking. They would make students sit in the air tip toed if they did not finish their homework, and they would do many other punishments to students if they made a mistake. Now, most of the teachers aren’t really that strict, they try their best to be kind and have motherly love for students. During recess, my parents would play on playgrounds and they would feel very hot and sweaty just like us but there were no air conditioners in their school. Now, most of the schools have air conditioners. They had prayers in the beginning and end of class every day, while nobody does that anymore now. They were put into groups and they would clean the room if it was their day to clean the room. Most of the schools now have cleaners to clean the whole school. There are many other things also, that have changed over time like better buildings, better furniture, and better sports facilities. Our generation is so lucky to have plenty of resources to help us in our studies but unfortunately most of us don’t even feel grateful that we have these things. All we want to do is stay at home and play with our iPad or iPhone. I guess all of us should be grateful to be born in this generation. What do you think? Please let me know about your opinion in the comment section below. |
